82-year-old Paul Pelosi, the husband of the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, was attacked in his home this morning. Pelosi was attacked with a hammer after his assailant entered through the back door. He is expected to quickly recover but is currently in the hospital. Washington D.C. has announced that they are collaborating with the FBI on the case. A suspect has already been arrested and is in custody. Whether or not the attack was politically motivated has yet to be revealed. More information will be released as the case develops.
