Large Loss Brings More Motivation To Work Even Harder

Coach talking to players about plan. Oct. 24, Bullitt East lost to Male, with a score of 49-0. “Male is a really good team, and we did not play up to our ability. When you combine those things, the game can get out of hand very quickly. We made some mistakes early, and Male took advantage of them. You can’t give a team like Male any extra help,” Receivers Coach Tyler Faucett said, “We need to continue to improve. We still have two regular season games, and the playoffs left. We need to get better in every aspect of our team.”

Postponing the loss.

Due to a thunderstorm Friday night, the game was postponed to Saturday, in which they lost.

This game brought the biggest loss yet. Receivers Coach Tyler Faucett was not happy with the score and wants to improve. Players also weren’t happy and know that they could have played better.

The game was played Oct. 24. Male won the game 49-0.

Faucett believes that Male is a good school, and they didn’t play as good as they could have. “Male is a really good team, and we did not play up to our ability. When you combine those things, the game can get out of hand very quickly. We made some mistakes early, and Male took advantage of them. You can’t give a team like Male any extra help,” Faucett said, “we have adjusted to the procedures for COVID.  We have been doing them for several weeks now and they are just part of the normal routine at this point. The big deal this week was the weather.” Faucett believes that they have overcome COVID-19, and the thing that affected them most was the weather.

“We need to continue to improve. We still have two regular season games and the playoffs left. We need to get better in every aspect of our team,” Faucett said, “we just need to continue working. We need to continue to focus on improving, in the fundamentals of football.” The plan for the team is to just continue working, and improving.

Faucett does not like the way that his team actually played. “We did not play well, at all. Male is at the level we are trying to reach. We have to get past being intimidated by certain teams and just play our best football,” Faucett said, “there are not a whole lot of highlights when you lose a game 49-0.” There were no highlights this game, for Faucett.

Senior Quarterback Aeron Adams does not think the game went good in any aspect. “It didn’t go well, as the score showed. We could’ve played better,” Adams said.

Adams wants himself to improve in most aspects of the game. “We still are needing to work, and improve, in every aspect possible,” Adams said, “Keep working hard in practice, and improving.”

Senior Receiver Daniel Davis believes that Male will always be a good team. “It was hard. They’re a really good team; always have been and most likely always will be,” Davis said, “I am learning something new every game and with good coaching, I’m hoping I’ll keep getting better, barring injury.” Davis believes that they tried their best to hold them back.

The team did have positive takeaways from the game, despite the score. “We proved we could move the ball against the best, and with more experience, we will be a formidable team against those perennial powerhouse type teams,” Davis said, “Just learning as much as I can, and fine-tuning the way I play.” Davis does believe that himself, and his team, have plans for the way that he wants to improve.
