Boys Golf Regionals
Boys Golf Season Comes To An End
The boys golf season has come to an end as their regionals happened on Sept. 28th.
Sept. 28, the boys golf regionals took place at Elizabethtown Country Club, concluding their season. They had a chance to go to state if one of the boys qualified, but no one did this year. Even though the season had complications, they’ve learned some new things.
The boys golf season had ended after having a good season even though it was different from last year and not something anyone expected. One of the differences is that this year, the team had some inexperienced players. “We were very young this year. A lot of golfers played in their first match or tournament this year,” said Coach Kyle Downs.
Although no one qualified for state this year, they had a good run at regionals. Christian Adkins (10) had a score of 118, John Blake (11) had a score of 115, Austin Hale (11) had a score of 96, Kyle Schuler (10) had a score of 94, and Thomas Bryan (12) had a score of 86. “Thomas had a chance to qualify and was just a bit unlucky with where he was on the course when the 35-40 mph winds hit,” said Downs.
With the COVID-19 protocols, the season was different, and sometimes it is difficult to do what the team needed to do in order to prepare for tournaments. They can improve a lot from what they learned and experienced this year for the future season.
