A Long Night for the Football Team

The football team was under tough circumstances in Friday’s game against Male.

The Male Bulldogs are the defending state champions, and that showed on the field.

The Chargers went into Male looking to put up a good fight, and that wasn’t the case. They never quit, but it didn’t show on the scoreboard. Male came out with a 50-0 win.

Male jumped out to an early 7-0 lead three minutes into the first quarter and never looked back. They took a 43-0 lead into the half and the entire second half was under a ‘running clock’ per KHSAA rules.

East wasn’t able to get anything at all going on offense and the one drive that looked promising to get points ended in a fumble.

East will be back in action this Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 on the road at Shelby County. The Chargers currently sit with a (5-4) record and have completed district play with a (1-2) record.
