Going Out with a Bang

Zach Combest

Heart of Bullitt East award was given to Zach Combest in the fall and Sean Woods in the spring. Congratulations to both of them!

An excellence ending to the year.

The annual end of the year awards ceremony for students was Friday.

Students were praised for their academic accomplishments. If students had perfect attendance they were also awarded. The Spring Heart of Bullitt East award was presented.

Students who earned outstanding grades in all their classes this year received an award. Also every academic department chose one student to receive an award for their academic excellence in the class.

Perfect attendance was also rewarded. Students were called up if they had perfect attendance for the 2017-18 school year. Then seniors who have had perfect attendance all four years of high school received an award. Senior Camryn Colvin was then awarded for an outstanding perfect attendance K-12. Colvin said, “It really wasn’t that hard at all. I just got up everyday and went because I knew if I missed I would be behind so why not go and not be behind.”

Bullitt East presents the Heart of Bullitt East award two times a year: once in the Fall and once in the Spring. The award always go to a senior, a teacher and a staff member. This past Fall it was senior Zach Combest, fellow Livewire staffer. He presented the award to the Spring winner, senior Sean Woods.

“I feel honored. I’ve been lucky enough to receive a few awards from the school in my time here, but this one probably means more to me than any of the others. I consider it a huge honor to be so highly respected by the faculty and staff of the school, and I hope I’ve been able to make a positive impact on Charger nation,” said Woods.

Congratulations to all of the students who received an award Friday.
