Some of the key players from the regular season standing next to each other at one of their final games. May 25, the Chargers played against the North Oldham Mustang’s, and at one point, during the game, senior Brock Hammond (right), senior Slade Douthett (middle), and senior Riley Harkey (left), were standing next to each other. Based on their number of runs, they led the team this regular season. “All of our seniors are always important to our team. They know how we want things done, and this is a time they get to be leaders, and develop some skills that will benefit them later on, in life. They are given responsibility, and asked to get things done, while leading the rest of the guys,” Bowles said.

Strong Season Nearing The Home Stretch

Senior Slade Douthett getting ready to swing. Douthett was one of the main players of the May 8 game, against Bullitt Central, where they won 10-0, Bullitt East. “I think we played very good Saturday, as a team. We knew going into the game, that this would be a must-win game, for us. For the most part, we made all of our plays, and hit the ball well,” Douthett said.

From Small Loss to Big Win

The first game of the season was a game against Christian Academy. “It's always tough starting the season with two losses, but this is when you see what people, and teams, are truly made of. This team is much better than we’ve shown, and I believe we’re all ready to go out, and show that,” Hammond said.
