Getting into the Holiday Spirit

Candy-canes, caroling, contests and more!

Bullitt East is hosting their annual Houses for the Holidays on Friday, Dec. 1.

Houses for the Holidays is a time to celebrate the season here at East. It never fails to make students and staff smile. This event helps to get students more involved with school.

The entire school day, everyone is able to wear their favorite ugly Christmas sweater. Evenmore,  students have a chance to sign up and walk out on the court during this event to show off their seasonal outfit. The sweaters range from old grandma Christmas vests to crafted at home clothes. Students get extra creative for this annual event.

Also, there is usually a lip sync contest. Those involved in the contest will lip sync and dance with other students to their favorite holiday song of their choice. Students and staff enjoy watching this event.

Bullitt East always finds a way to try and get students involved. “More students should definitely get involved because everything is more fun when more people participate and I think it’s a good way for our school to get everyone involved during the holiday season,” said junior Lindsey Spencer.

There are many students that look forward to these holiday contests each year. “Houses for the Holidays is a great event to get our school together and have lots of fun. It’s exciting to see everyone participate and get in the holiday spirit,” said senior Mallory Tinker.

Houses for the Holidays is a time for students to step out of their comfort zones and express their creativeness and unique personalities. It is also a time to enjoy the holiday season with friends they might not see outside of school.

This event is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
