Donut King Holds a Long Awaited Re-Opening
The king is back and the castle doors are opened once again.
After being closed down since October, Donut King re-opens with much support from the community.
During the first day of the stores re-opening the staff were overwhelmed with customers lining up all around the block. The business has received much support from the community and Simon Yeung’s family, as his wife and children have both stepped in to help him run the store. The family is excited yet overwhelmed by the support the community has given during the stores return. The family was reluctant about re-opening, but overall was happy with the decision they made.
The first day of the re-opening overwhelmed the family. Customers wrapped around the stores and outside of the shop’s doors causing them to run out of supply in an hour. The overpowering number of customers made the staff realize just how important their store is to the community. “We are definitely happy and overwhelmed,” said Yeung’s son Jonathon Yeung. The community has supported the business tremendously by giving the store a lot of business and good reviews. “They have the best donuts in town. it’s worth the wait,” said Rob Troutman, a frequent customer at Donut King.
Not only has Yeung received endless support from the community, but his family has been there every step of the way. Yeung’s daughter and son helped him open and close up shop throughout the weeks of re-opening. “This has definitely brought the family closer,” said Jonathon Yeung. Even Simon’s siblings have contributed work in the store since re-opening.
After the tragic incident that occurred causing the store to shutdown the family was reluctant about returning to the store but were happy with the outcome. “My mom was definitely reluctant to reopen,” said Jonathon Yeung. Even though the location held a traumatic situation, the love that radiates from the Yeung family and the customers makes the store seem brighter every day. It was the community’s pleasure giving the store an amazing opening day to show their gratitude and love for the shop.
