Army and Navy are teams whose players serve for the country and have an annual game against each other.

The annual game between Army and Navy has been a long-time event between the two teams of the United States Military Academy. Navy has shown more dominance of the two over the years. The most recent game, which was on December 10, was a victory for Army.

Army has a record of 7-5 and Navy is 9-4. As of now, Army is one of four schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) that does not belong to any conference; the others are Brigham Young University (BYU), Notre Dame and the University of Massachusetts. On the other hand, Navy is in the American Athletic Conference (AAC).

To become a football player for one of these teams, the requirement is to commit five years of service after graduation. This is why on senior night games, there can be a lot of emotions in the air.

The Army–Navy Game is a rivalry football game between the teams of the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York. This team goes by the Army Black Knights.  The other team is the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland. They go by the Navy Midshipmen.

This traditional game is held on the second Saturday in December and is usually the last game for both teams. The first game between Army and Navy was on November 29, 1890, Navy taking the win 24-0. There have been 116 meetings since and Navy leads the series 60–50–7.

On Saturday, December 10, Army snapped a 14 game losing streak against Navy. During the first half of the game, Army dominated. They scored a run in the first quarter and a run in the second quarter, making the score 14-0 at halftime.

Then, Navy started to step their game up. In the third quarter, they scored a run and kicked a field goal. This decreased their deficit by four, making the score 14-10 in Army’s favor still.

As the fourth quarter started, Navy ran for a huge score taking their first lead in the game, 17-14. With six minutes to go in the game, Army ran for another touchdown. This made the score 21-17, in their favor again. Neither team scored again and the final score remained 21-17, Army getting the win.
