Better Together: Sanders and Clinton Join Forces
Bernie is with her (but he wasn’t four months ago.)
As Election Day approaches, Senator Bernie Sanders has shown notable support for Candidate for U.S. President, Hillary Clinton.
During the primaries, it was clear to see that Sanders and Clinton did not see eye to eye. But once Clinton was selected as the Democratic candidate to run for president, it became a different story. Sanders encourages his supporters to vote for Clinton.
Anyone could see that Sanders and Clinton had many disagreements on a number of issues. And they still probably do, but they are working together for the Clinton campaign’s sake.
They definitely aren’t best friends. But they don’t need to be. The main reason Sanders dropped out of the race was to stop Republican Candidate for U.S. President, Donald Trump, from becoming president, not to support Clinton. According to CNN, at a Clinton-Sanders “rally”, Clinton said, “We are joining forces to defeat Donald Trump!”
Initially and still now, some Sanders’ lovers were very upset and angry about his drop out from the race and backing of Clinton. But good news for them, Clinton has “adapted” some of Sanders’ ideas on issues such as education. She intends to make in-state tuition for public colleges free for families making $125,000 or less a year. With this and Sanders’ support, Clinton looks to receive more millennial votes.
As the election looms over America, less than two weeks away, it’s most important now for Sanders’ supporters to vote Clinton. Even if she isn’t their favorite, “On every important issue, her views are far, far better than Donald Trump’s,” said Sanders in a video posted on his Instagram.
“I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next President of the United States,” said Sanders, at the same Clinton-Sanders event, according to CNN.
They aren’t a dynamic duo, but they are determined to stay united for the good of America.
