Teacher of the Year

Agriculture Teacher Dustin Gosser was voted Bullitt East teacher of the year.

Being elected teacher of the year isn’t easy, especially if it is only your second year at the school that voted for you, and second year as a teacher over all. Teacher of the year, (TOTY) isn’t something Gosser takes for granted. He said, “I was very honored to be selected for teacher of the Year, I know how many good teachers there are at the school, and honestly there is a lot more other teachers that deserve it a lot more than I did.”

Gosser wasn’t just handed TOTY, he built up out FFA program from the ground up. He also brought new agriculture classes to Bullitt East and offered a wide variety of electives for people who have an interest in a future in agriculture.

Gosser can’t take all the credit, he said, “It was a neat feeling to see not only me, but the program , and the kids involved to be honored for all the hard work they’ve done.”

It doesn’t just stop at Bullitt East, being elected as a school teacher of the year moves you forward in a  state wide competition. After the individual school’s, it moves forward to district, and the winner of that will move on to the state competition.

East wishes Mr. Dustin Gosser the very best luck in the TOTY competition.
