The annual talent show is set to take place on Tuesday, November 26th, during 7th period. This event provides students with the opportunity to display their skills and creativity in front of their peers and faculty.
For some participants, the talent show is an important step in their personal development as performers. One student, Dexter Long, reflected on his motivation to participate: “I have always loved to sing, but I feel like I’ve always overlooked performing. I’m trying to get more comfortable performing for larger crowds, specifically singing, and I think the talent show is a good way to exercise that.” Long said.
Preparation for the event has varied among participants. For Long and his partner, Allie Fawbush, familiarity with the process made things easier. “Allie and I pretty much knew what we were going to be doing for a while.” Long said “It wasn’t really until a week or two prior to auditions in which we started to get together and practice. But I also feel that could have just been a byproduct of us doing it last year; we’d felt confident and comfortable enough to put it off for that long.”
Long and Fawbush will be performing together for the second time. “My first-ever time participating in one was last year, with my friend Allie. We sang together, and I felt it was only right to do it again together.”
The talent show is a highlight of the school year, offering a platform for students to showcase their hard work and talent. Make sure to attend during 7th period on Tuesday, November 26th, to support your classmates.
