Cruise Coulter has been in the school system for seven years, this is his first year at Bullitt East.
For the last couple of years, Coulter has been a bulldog at Louisville Male High School but he says it never felt like home. “Home is where I grew up, right here in Mt. Washington,” Colter said.
Coulter was born and raised in Mount Washington, Kentucky, and went to school at Bullitt East. He felt at home as soon as he walked through the lobby doors.
Coulter is a new teacher here in Bullitt East. He came to Bullitt East because he said “This is my home, I was born and raised here in Mt. Washington.” Coulter loves the environment of this building. “It’s positive, supportive and caring,” Coulter said. For the short amount of time that he has been here, it feels rewarding to be back at Bullitt East.
As the school year gets further in he hopes to have a strong relationship with his kids. Coulter says that he feels like it is rewarding and such a blessing to be back at the school he graduated from. His number one goal is to help his kids grow to their full potential and help them see their “future of greatness,” Coulter said.
Coulter has always been a PE and health teacher. He taught at Moore High School, Southern High School, and Louisville Male and says “All of the schools I’ve been at were all missing belonging and community,” Coulter said.
He helped at Bluegrass Academy many years ago. “It feels surreal to be teaching the kids I had when they were five at the daycare,” Coulter said.
