Her first experiences at Bullitt East have beat anything she’d imagined.
Heather Reynolds has joined the Bullitt East staff as a new member of the math department.
Bullitt East is Reynolds’ new chapter, and she couldn’t be happier. Other staff members went above and beyond to greet her as she settled into a new building and organized her classroom. “I love the camaraderie among the staff and am very thankful to now be a part of the Bullitt East family,” Reynolds said.
Reynolds has lived in Mount Washington most of her life. After starting her teaching career in Bullitt County she was rooted at Bullitt Central High School for almost 19 years. “I loved my time at BC and made many memories; however, for various reasons, the desire to be a part of Bullitt East grew with each passing year,” Reynolds said.
Reynolds has witnessed firsthand a student’s experience at Bullitt East through her own daughter. Currently her son is a student at Bullitt East, so she felt she couldn’t pass up the chance to support him as both an athlete and a student. Reynolds will be fortunate enough to have first-hand experiences that many other parents do not get to enjoy. “Everyone knows Bullitt East sets the bar for high academic expectations and excellence as well as a great school culture. Many great things are happening at Bullitt East, with many more to come, and I want to be a part of that,” Reynolds said.
As a teacher Reynolds values her involvement inside and outside of school hours. She wants to advocate for all her students and give any additional one-on-one assistance to all students seeking it. Her main goal is for all her students to be successful and for them to believe that they can be. “Students must have patience to learn new concepts and it is my goal to teach them that achieving success comes with learning from failures,” Reynolds said.
