The Lady Chargers tennis team has had a successful winning streak this week with multiple matches at home.
They played against Holy Cross at home on April 22, with Elizabeth Swift and Emma Wallace winning both of their singles matches that day. “Unlike any other season I’ve played with this team, I think our last few matches of the season have turned out really well and have really prepared us for regionals that start next week,” senior Tessa Tibone said.
Three days later on April 25, they played their district and regional rival Mercy, also at home, with Kennedy Scott and Paige Halbrook also winning both of their single matches respectively. Tibone and Swift also won two out of three doubles matches.
They will play against Mercy again in regionals. “I’m looking forward to our regional matches. I’m a little bit nervous because there are the most important matches of the season. We came really close to winning last year but I think this year we will be able to fully secure the win,” Tibone said. One of the players’ main motivations throughout the season has been winning regionals.
The team will play their next match on May 2 at Larue County High School at 4:30 p.m.
