Batter up!
Bullitt East Softball had a program-changing victory against Ballard High School with a score of 6-3 and beat J-town High School 17-0.
“Ballard has won state two years in a row, when you hear the name Ballard it really does make you nervous to be going up against them,” pitcher Mollie Johnston said. Winning against Ballard 6-3 was considered a program-changing victory for the team. “It was amazing for not only me but also my team and coaches. After beating Ballard it gives the whole team tons of confidence to come out and beat these other great teams,” Johnston said.
“The game against J-Town was definitely not as challenging as some other games we played, we ended up run-ruling them in three innings,” Johnston said. The ‘Run Rule’ is a mercy ruling, leading to the game ending if one team is above by 10 points.
