The boy’s tennis team is ready to serve this season!
From Central to Trinity, Boy’s Tennis has a lot of matches to look forward to.
Last year’s region win holds the team high while they prepare to dominate this season. “We had been so close on numerous occasions. We had finished 3rd, or runner up several times and to finally break through and win regions as a team was really cool,” head coach Dustin Armstrong said. “When I was hired, I told the athletic director that I planned on doing this as long as I am physically able to.”
Seniors Trenton Wood and Andrew Kruse prepare for their last season on the team by improving skills from last year, and emotionally preparing to leave their team. “It’s, I mean it’s bittersweet, I’m excited to move onto bigger things, but it’s sad to see the sport I’ve been playing for 6 years, I won’t be able to do anymore on this team, so definitely a little bit of sad,” Wood said. Both claim to have taken away a sense of sportsmanship from the team, and are looking forward to new and future endeavors.
With the seniors leaving, the future of the team rests on the shoulders of the new players, and remaining members. However, this does not seem to be a challenge for them. “I think this season Barrett Armstrong, he is a sophomore [has majorly improved]. It’s been great seeing how he’s grown and got progressively better at his game,” Wood said.
